Issue 8 – 💻 A Simple Strategy That Will Grow Your Email List Instantly 💻

I’m going to share a very simple strategy that some of the most successful email marketers have used to grow their email lists swiftly and efficiently… Using a lead generation offer to tempt your clients into opting in for your list! This strategy is so easy, and it works like a charm. So you’re in for a treat as we discuss…

Why Having An Opt-In For Your Email List Is Crucial

Email lists can be used to promote new products, increase brand awareness, and grow bonds with clients. So it goes without saying that you should have one! But people don’t just give out their email without expecting something in return, and that’s where opt-ins come into play!

Because if you don’t take advantage of this strategy, you may notice things like…

  • Less of a response when you launch something new, due to previous customers not knowing about it
  • Less loyalty and repeat-business from previous clients
  • And an increase in lost leads!

Whereas if you do have an effective opt-in (and you’re therefore able to grow your email list to its full potential), you’ll notice the exact opposite.

Some Opt-In Examples

Now, just in case you’re new to the concept of opt-ins or you need some inspiration to get your creative juices flowing… here are some examples of popular ones!

  • A printable
  • A short eBook, or even an informative PDF
  • A customizable digital item
  • An acceptance to a private group with other people who have opted in
  • Or even a coupon code or special discount

As you can see, the general idea here is that you want to choose something that… doesn’t cost you money to give out, provides value to your audience, and will entice them enough to trade their email for it.

So as long as you find something that fits that criteria, you’re golden!

How To Create Your Very Own Opt-In

But, with all of that out of the way, it’s time to create your own opt-in. Which you can immediately start using to grow your email list and business!

Step one is, of course, to figure out what you want it to be. And to do this, you could either choose an idea from the list above or brainstorm one on your own. But the important thing is that you customize it to fit your business, and appeal to your audience.

For instance, let’s say that you want to create a printable! If you’re a life coach who specializes in helping people schedule their lives… then it could be a printable calendar that you put a special twist on! But, on the other hand, if you’re a dating coach then you might be better served to create a printable checklist for first-date prep.

Step two is the creation stage, where you’ll actually bring your opt-in to life! And remember that, while it may be tempting to speed through this step because you know you won’t make direct income from it… this opt-in can be used to consistently grow your reach. So in the long run, the time you spend on it will pay off.

Step three is to place your opt-in offer anywhere that you promote your email list! Or alternatively (if it’s a new email list), find a place to promote both it and the opt-in. This is usually in the form of a pop-up on your website (and I talk more about pop-ups in this article about lead generation strategies), but you could promote it on your social medias as well. And in fact, the more places that you can find to put it… the better!

But I do have one final note about opt-ins, and it is that you may need to refresh them occasionally. Specifically if the one you’re currently using stops performing as well, or if there have been recent changes to your business or target demographic.
